Countdown to Christmas with Elf on the Shelf
Happy December 1st! We started a new tradition this year! Yup, Elf on the Shelf! A little late to the game, but part of me didn’t want to add new fictional traditions to our Christmas but now that the kids are older and have a solid understanding of what Christmas is truly about, we can throw in some new and fun holiday cheer.
We had our first successful arrival day today. The kids were ecstatic when they saw it in the morning. I had ordered it a while ago and it only took me half hour the night before to set it up after the kids had gone to bed. I found an arrival letter on another blog (here), printed it and framed it. Then, threw some candy around it to finish off the arrival stage. We ended the arrival night by reading the story, which I decide to read to them every night. Before the end of the night, the kids decided on the name Flicker. I look forward to the next 24 days of fun and mischievous ideas.
