How to Make a (REAL) DIY Doctor Kit for Kids

DIY DOCTOR KIT.JPG

For about a year, our daughter who is 3 years old has been fascinated by the field of medicine. When she grows up she wants to be a doctor. I feel like (actually hoping) that it might become true because she’s really serious and obsessed about it (and we need a doctor in the family). So for her Christmas gift, I (I mean Santa) decided to gift her a working doctor kit, not the plastic ones sold in the toy aisles. With some research, I found everything I needed, specifically in pink because that’s the color she had requested. Once everything came in the mail, I found a cute bag at TJ Maxx in the beauty department that was the perfect size and color. I was so excited to give her this unique gift and even more excited to see her face opening it. She was ecstatic when she saw it and hasn’t put it down since. And, how about that embroidered white coat? She looks so adorable. #momwin

Here are the sources for everything in the kit:

Makeup bag from TJ Maxx
Empty pill bottle and Trader Joe’s Organic Mints
Notepad and pencil
Stethoscope
Reflex Hammer
Mini Otolite
Lab Coat (with name personalization)
Blood Pressure Cuff
Self Adhesive Bandage

All of this cost about $50. It beats any plastic or wooden doctor toy out there. Imagine the look on your future doctor’s face when he/she opens their gift - priceless. It was so worth putting this together for her. If you found this post helpful or put together a kit yourself, I’d love to hear about it down below.
