Harry Potter Halloween 2019

And, that’s a wrap for Halloween 2019. I can’t believe this year is almost over. I’m already packing up the Halloween decorations and convincing my husband that it’s not too late to decorate for Christmas. Right? Who’s with me?

We changed our theme a few times this year. Our original plan (I mean my oldest son’s plan) was to be characters from Pokemon but after some research I discovered most of the costumes were not available for purchase. So, to get myself out of a lot of DIY costumes, I asked my oldest to come up with another theme. And, so Harry Potter was settled. It actually worked out perfectly. My daughter had asked to become a witch so it worked out for her since she became Professor Minerva McGonagall. We decided to turn our baby into a Mandrake plant which turned out so cute. I was transformed into Bellatrix Lestrange (prisoner version) and my oldest and baby daddy ended up being two versions of Harry Potter. My husband was initially going to be Professor Snape but that later changed. We love how everything turned out.

It was our first Halloween celebrating in our new neighborhood 250 miles away from our families. Instead of trick or treating in the neighborhood from house to house we ended up going to the Fashion Show Mall for an event they had for kids. And, in between the event the kids trick or treated throughout the stores. They had a blast and most importantly we stayed warm and cozy because the weather here has been so chilly.

I didn’t have too much on my DIY plate this time—I made my prisoner outfit, my daughter’s green velvet robe, and baby’s Mandrake hat which were all very simple to do.

Hope you had a great time with your families!
